Artist's Comments

Done with mechanical pencil on sketchbook paper.

- Savaat Sargo is a Nightmare, a savage, bizzare, monster that devours the dreams of sleeping victims and leaves them eternally paralyzed. Even after the physical body dies and rots away, the soul will be tormented in Limbo, as a side effect of Savaat's sorcery.

His infamous Lantern of Eternal Binding causes this. One look into its ethereal light will induce extreme fear, so great as to restrain movement and speech. He is practically a demi-god and has powers that go beyond normal comprehension. The dreams of children are most tasty to him.

*As you will notice this is a poor scan of the pic, the background is supposed to be much darker without those glares.*

The Devourer of Dreams is just one frightening example of ~Xobius's incredible pencil techniques. The sheer detail and the delicate play of light is impressive, especially considering how difficult it is to achieve with this medium. (Suggested by ~Rither and Featured by `mangapunksai)

wow, that's some crazy ass demi-god of a thing. it's awesome, i really like the details and the darkness and horror of it. as for the scanning of it, try to fiddle around w/ the resolution, briteness, and contrast of it if those features are available b4 u scan it.

Holy crap, this is really extreme, great pencil work *applause*

I like the details and lighting, your coloring is getting smoother.

For some reason I think the person looks a bit 2 D and unrealistic compared with the rest of the picture, especially the eyes.

Good work nonetheless :)

cheers

This reminds me of the movie "Monkeybone" when the main character had drawn these frightful nightmare scetches. Have you seen that? He detailed his about the same as yours. You certainly spent a lot of time on this. I give you a big fat A+. You really know how to draw, and well! The only thing I can say is, with all of this awesome detail, the kid is just sort of plain and like. "ahh!" I think maybe a little more acknowledgement that the kid is there would be cool. amazing drawing.

1st Impressions:
Disturbing. To say the least. Im assuming of course by the desc that it was meant to be so.

Likes/Strengths:
-Incredibly detailed, I cannot say that I am a fan of this type of work meaning the creepy cridder types, but I guess you have to take that as a compliment ^^;
-I do have to say that I am impressed with the little things such as your ability to create very good cloth qualities with the blankets pillows; also the wood bed frame looks great!
Hehhehh hope you took that well ;)
